I like the idea and the colours. I'm not so keen on the hotspots from the flash or the dead space. I think you've got a good idea and base to work from. Perhaps lumping them together a bit tighter to focus on the colours, taking it in a brighter room where you don't need the flash?

i agree with ferny...

i think a bit closer together...and maybe even in a basket..or, on a decorative plate..

but i'd seriously use ferny's suggestion on a brighter room...ooorrr, a tripod with longer shutter would be fine :-D
