Here are a few shots showing nautical activities.

First, is a tugboat in Hawaii that was standing by in case the cruise ship needed help leaving the harbor.. However, the captain was such a master at maneuvering the ship, no tugs were needed during the entire cruise. While this tug was waiting, instead of just sitting there and waiting, the tug captain used his thrusters and started rotating the tug in circles. He did this continuously for at least ten minutes.

Here is a river tug pushing some barges up the Columbia River.

Here is a small ferry boat that runs between Puget Island in the Columbia River and the Oregon side of the river. There is a bridge on the Washington side.

Here is a Coast Guard patrol boat patrolling a group of about ten US and Canadian Naval ships that were visiting Portland during the annual Rose Festival.

The next two shots show some radio controlled sailboats in a man-made pont in Tualitin, Oregon. The first shows a "mini-regatta". It looks like the boat on the right cut the buoy short!. The second shot shows one of the boat builders about to launch his boat. He has the boat in one hand and the radio-control transmitter in the other.

Use these shots as ideas or come up with something on your own.

This first shot is my favorite. I think that it's funny the tug boat captain would go in circles like that. The people that work on the second tug boat don't need a stair stepper.
