Nice shot. I have taken a number of shots similar to that and my solution to the vertigo and disorientation is to brace my stance with one foot in front of me and one behind me. If that doesn't work, I either find something to lean against or lie down on the ground. Actually, lying on the ground often give you a better vantage point.
