Let's push the envelope a bit:

These seeds and the surrounding jelly like stuff are edible but this is not the chocolate we are familiar with.
Several steps take place before we get the stuff dreams are made of.
The seeds and their pulpy mass undergo several steps before chocolate emerges.

Pretty good sunject matter, but for some reason my attention keep wondering to that Kona Sharks label (or whatever). Maybe because of the brighter colors? I think there is a lesson in this some where. Why would a persons attention be drawn away from the main subject on this to admittidly something of really no interest?

I posted a reply to this thread several days ago and it disappeared!

Anyway, I think it is amazing that that glorious substance many of are addicted to starts out with an ugly mass of seeds like this one.

How large is the seed pod? There is nothing in the photo to give it scale.

I also agree that the bottle and toothpick holder (??) don't contribute to the photo.

Wait a minute! If that is a toothpick holder, then it does set the scale. However, it contributes nothing else to the photo. I would replace it with another fruit or vegetable of known size such as a carrot or radish.
