I'm flying out to San Diego in the morning for a business trip, but wanted to get this entry in as it seem appropriate. Taken at the Veterans War Memorial Park in Springfield, Illinois. There is a memorial for each of the 20th Century wars. This one taken at the Vietnam monument.

Hi Walter,
Thanks for participating. The first shot is an excellent shot for the challenge combining reflections and shadow. Not many of either in the second. Not considering the challenge, both are excellent photos. You have done well. There is a 3/4 sized replica of the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, D.C. that is touring around the country. It is in Portland for the weekend. Weather permitting, we will probably go see it tomorrow. I am going to try to get some shots similar to yours. If I get some decent ones, I'll post a couple. There are going to be a lot of people there so it may be difficult. Cal |

I didn't provide the second shot as part of the challenge, but to let folks see the overall context of the first shot. |

Walter,
Superb redition of of the memorial in the first. Even better that it qualifies for the challenge sicne some of the elements that were asked for in the actually heightens the impact of the shot. The reflection and the shadows are nice added touches. Yes, the second shot does give some perspective to the memorial. Aloha |

Thanks, Selvin. These were taken a month ago and I recalled the reflections and shadows in this particular one.
I had some good friends, and a brother-in-law, who served in Vietnam. One young man didn't come back. I'll have a chance to visithis sister, who was my secretary back in those days, this week in San Diego. Wonder how many more memorials will have to be built this century. Walter |

Walter,
I apologize. I didn't realize at first that the second shot was for reference. As I said, both shots are excellent. In the future, could you please include the full challenge title "Light, Shadows, and Reflections" in your subject line. Thanks Cal |
