I don't want to start a war here, since they are both good cameras. However,it were me, and I had to choose between the A80 and A95, I'd get the A80. I like the 4MP 1/1.8" CCD better (most newer 4MP models have gone to a smaller Panasonic 4MP 1/2.5" CCD)
TheSony 4MP 1/1.8" CCD has larger photosites for each pixel, compared to the Sony 5MP 1/1.8" CCD used in the A95. As a result, it probably has lower noise as ISO speeds are increased. The 4MP 1/1.8" CCD seems to be less prone to purple fringing compared to the 5MP 1/1.8" CCD, too (when the same lens is used with both sensors). I suspect that this has to do with the larger microlens for each photosite in the 4MP CCD.
Movie Modes, Digital Zoom, etc., are features that I wouldn't care less about, and there is not a lot of difference between 4 and 5 Megapixels from a resolution perspective at print sizes I'd be using.
