I'm seeking for help on this.
I want a digicam, but i'm a novice. I saw this two at a store for 160€ (aprox 200$) and 150€ (aprox 180$) respectively.
I know A85 has 4mp, but A510 as more zoom and is more compact. But I also read about some shortcommings on the newer model.
So, what is your advice? I should buy A510 or A85?

Thanks in advance,
Ricardo (Portugal)

You'll only notice the shortcomings if you're a pro.

I got the A510... but if you want a 4MP cam, get the A520. It's identical to the A510, but it has 4MP.

The A510 and A520 are better than their their predecessors (anteriores) A75 and A80 respectively.

Yeah get the`s a nice little and very complete camera......flash is a little slow recharging.....the rest is ok.....i`ll post more pics soon and in the meantime here is a pic of my cats,it was taken in a very dark room with flash and full automatic mode,i chose 640x480size in advance.

Got myself a 1gb SD card.....ready for 615 shots at2048x1536 size and max resolution......with 1024x768 size i`d take 1698 shots & by 640x480 it would be 3696.

Your black & white cat is a terrific photographic subject. That said, please be careful not to over-flash it, as cats' eyes are much more sensitive than ours. (We didn't evolve from nocturnal hunters.)

I agree the a510 is a nice little camera. The only thing I did not like is the 9 to 11 seconds it takes until you can take another picture using the flash. But as far as the picture quality, well worth the money.
