As a long time SLR user I am converted to the exceptional viefinder/ screen flexibility of the Canon Powershot series. Mine is still a G2. I can afford but do not want a bulky SLR like the Nikon D200.

Has anyone an insight into how long I should expect to wait to get a new advanced Canon Powershot Pro? If there is non coming I will have to punish them by buying the new (in September) Panasonic / Leica FZ model.

...you should be thinking of buying a fuji s-series cam. The next generation which is based on the same technology as the F30 will be released in autumn...

You may want to hold off for a few more weeks. It may not apply to PowerShot pro series but we can dream. I don't know how true this is, but just a little light atthe end of the tunnel! Check out this sight: http://www.bobatkins.com/photography...al/rumors.html

Canon, Nikon and Olympus prosumer cameras like the Pro 1 are history due to their sub-$1000 digital SLR camera models -- sorry but that's marketing
