Hi, i have just bought a A620, i am pretty happy with it but i have noticed that some indoor pics using the flash have darker areas in the corners. this seems to happen in most modes auto, indooor and portrait. is it just that the flash is stuggling to illuminate the full area? out door pics dont seem to be suffering in the same way.
any help appreciated
Al

Can you post an example?.. Noting the fact that you said it doesn't do it outside.. I'll ask just to cover the basis.. Is the lense cover fully retracting?

Hi VW,

i will post a pic when i get home tonight. the lens cover is retracting properly, i checked this when i first noticed the problem.

looks like you are getting a little vignetting there. Try zoomin in just a little bit and see if the darkness is still there. Or if possible, try taking another picture from the same position, and not using the flash. I dont think it is an issue with the flash and how it is projecting onto a given subject, but a few more samples can help to pinpoint the issue.

Yup.. I second that.. maybe light up the room a bit and take without flash to rule that out.

I'm heading off to work in a bit.. Over the weekend, I'll try this with my camera and see what happens. Maybe someone else can think of something.

no flash unzoomed, all the lights on in the room.

I am begining to think it is not vignetting but just the flash is not reaching the corners of th pic. a little disapointing, Outside pics have looked great.

thanks for your input. Al

You have to think though.. Normally are you really going to take a photo of a person for example under those conditions?.. Probably not. That's why 'professionals' use mega flash and lighting.. gotta get it just right. I'd be curious still to see if my S2 has the same effect.. or other brands for that matter..
What other light is in the room?
