i was just reading the review on the canon powershot a70. on the subject of 3 megapixel cameras, i then went back to check out the review on the canon powershot s30. so which one is better??
not being techincally proficient in the area of digital camera technology, it is really hard (with 2 like cameras) to know which to pick. also is the newer technology always superior to the old, ie, is the new a70 technology superior to the older s30 technology?? all opinions welcome  |

Yeah, I've been looking at the new A70 myself. I like it better becuase of the Manual Capabilities and AA bateries. It's only a slight bigger than the S230 (about .6 inch). The S230 looks slicker though. I'm still waiting for the price to go down on the A70.

From the few sample images I've seen, the S30 is slightly better for quality. It also has more options for manual control, RAW image mode and (probably) lower noise. The A70 uses AA batteries and can record pretty decent 640x480 video.

I understand the S30 has been discontinued.
