I switched from Canon PS S3iS to Canon PS A710iS, because of the very bad and dark electronic viewfinder and the clumsy switching between LCD and viewfinder on the S3. It's not a pleasure trying to make quick pictures with the S3; I found it very disappointing, although camera specs and pictures are very good. I found that the S3 is no alternative for a real SLR camera, despite the idea of being a SLR-like. It's not!
I'm happy now with my 710; the optical viewfinder may be a bit small, but it's clear on all light conditions and it's a perfect camera for fast photography. The 2,5"LCD is much better/bigger as the one you'll find on the S3. Optical viewfinder and LCD are seperated and independent features, where on the S3 it's one or the other. And for all other work, I use my real SLR Nikon D70! Frank Bos Holland |
