Kindly give me some sugggestions and reviews about those that you use. Which one would you choose if money is not a problem. What i need is picture quality , which one is the best among the 3 cameras.

I don't know anything about the Ixus 2. The Sony V1 is actually more comparable to the Canon G3 or G5.
My mom is shopping for a digital camera and we looked at the V1. We decided against it as it gets a bit awkward to hold when the flash is popped up. As far as picture quality goes, Sony is known for more sharpening whereas Canon's pictures are softer. Many people prefer Canon as they prefer to sharpen to their liking after the fact in post-processing. If you go to the dpreview.com canon forum http://www.dpreview.com/forums/forum...um=1010&page=1 You'll find lots of info on the S400 Hope this helps |

Hello,
The Ixus series Canon camera is substantially more compact than the Sony DSC-V1. I believe the Sony does take better pictures, thanks to its Carl Zeiss Lens. This lens really dominates this camera. The Ixus has the smaller formfactor, and takes good pictures too, but no where as precise as Sony. Sony achieves its sharp quality by utilizing a laser system to determine focal distance. The V1 has full manual control of all settings like shutter, focus, and apeture. The Ixus 400 has semi manual, but cannot adjust apeture, fast shutter speeds, or focus. hope this helps Mazor |
