Default Canon SD1200 IS - Water in Housing

My daughter tried cleaning the lens of this camera yesterday by squirting a water bottle directly into the camera lens. Naturally water ran throughout the unit, and it came back with the dreaded "Lens Error, Restart Camera" error.

I let it dry overnight, and in the morning put the batter back in, "Lens Error, Restart Camera". I bumped it on its corner 5 or 6 times, on a foam mousepad per advice on another site, and now the camera seems to work. However, the viewfinder images are hazy like in a steamed up bathroom, and the captured images are white with the image barely recognizable.

Has anyone seen this error, or have advice to offer? Thanks.

You need to send it to canon for repair, the water may have gotten into the electronic and shorts some of the things out. The worst news it that it is not covered under warranty as it is water damage.
