Which Compression Mode is Best for Printing 8X10

Hello,
I just bought my first digital camera, Powershot G2. Love it. Could someone share experiences in printing 8X10 photos using different compression modes? I am thinking of using Fine compression with Large resolution, would this give a good 8X10 (and larger) printout? THanks.

Best res for 8X10 on Canon G2

You paid for the highest resolution so use it. Use 'fine' compression and the highest resolution you camera offers. Depending on the CF card you are using you may be surprised by the limited number of pics you can capture. I use a 126 MB card at the 'fine' but highest res of 3 to 2 which equates to about 5 mega pixels and I get approx 60 pics.

I own a Frontier minilab from Fuji and a G2 as well. In fact, the most important is the picture size in pixels, you should always shoot in largest resolution to minimize interpolation. The compression rate doesn't affect much the final printed result in most cases, unless you wish to manipulate the image many times. Jpeg compression is really very good and it's very hard to notice from 8x10 prints the difference between different rates of compression. I make hundreds of digital prints every day and I can asure you that.
