Hello. I would like to know if there is a way I can erase all my photos at once on this camera. I cannot find a way in the manual. On both my Fujo's you could either erase one photo or all frames on the camera. Maybe I missed something. Appreciate any help. Thank you.

I finally did find it in the manual. It was a bit confusing butnow that I have done it I will remember. Is it better to erase myself or have my image editing programme do it after I have loaded the images??

You probably saw there is an Erase All option in the menu.

Formatting a card in the camera will also erase all pictures.

You should occasionally do a Low-Level Format on your cards for optimal performance.

Thank you Outpost. I don't know how to format although I guess it is in the manual. I usually delete my photos when I have loaded them into PSE5 from the computer. Is that something I should not do? Thanks.

I have used the PC to format a card before and nothing bad happened, but it is not recommended. Everything I have read recommends erasing and formating inside the camera.

Format is found by scrolling down in the SetUp Menu.

Low level formatting, or physical formatting, rewrites all of
the recording media's sector information. Existing data is
completely erased.

Formatting sets up new folders and data on the card. Using your camera, not the computer helps ensure the integrity of the card.
Using the camera rather than the computer's software to erase your memory card will help your card remain as compatible as possible with your digicam.

Have fun with your camera!

I always do a low level format after downloading pictures - and backing them up, of course. As with many cameras the instructions are truly awful. To perform a low level format, do the following:

(1) Set the camera to playback - the green arrow.
(2) Press the menu button.
(3) Go to "tools" (i.e., the pliers and hammers) by pressing the right button (marked with the flash insignia).
(4) Now press the down button (denoted by the the "little pages").
(5) Keep going until you hit "format". Note that "format" is not on the initial screen that you will see, but it will eventually show up.
(6) Hit the "right" button.
(7) You will get a message that says "cancel" or "OK". Hit the "right" button to indicate OK.
(8) Press "func set".
(9) Press menu. You should then see "no image".

Now you are set for a whole new round of pictures.

Enjoy your sd700 is. It's a great camera.

Thank you. I have printed out your instructions. I do intend to enjoy the camera after my upcoming surgery.
