Found this place while doing a search for reviews on the S2 a few weeks ago. I purchased the S2 this week and finally got to take it out and play with it. Mainly purchased it for shooting my brother's wedding in March and a summer trip to Ireland. Here is an out of the box shot:

Got to take it outside later on this afternoon for a few shots. This is of the park near my apartment:

I suppose a bit of an intro is in order. I am certainly a novice when it comes to photography. I took a course a few years ago and then did three years of film school (but pretty much flunked the techy stuff...I was more interesting in writing and directing). Metering and such was something I hated. I hated the light meter they made us purchase. I very much just love going out there and seeing what comes of whatever.

So, when I started looking for a digi cam I wanted something with a lot of features and something that had modes that let the cam do the work. However, I did want to start learning basics and thus I also wanted something that let me play around manually. So, the S2 was a good choice, it would appear.

So, with that said, the mentioned pic was taken simply with the S2's Snow Mode on. :p

More commentary is welcome as, really, these are my first digital photos. As well as suggestions. I am finding a blue tint around the edges of some of the pics. Any way of getting rid of that during shooting?

Here is another shot I took playing around with a feature I am sure I will enjoy: Color Accent:

I am just noticing now some yellow spots as well in the snow (no, not that). Any idea what caused this. Some spots in the white of clouds as well. Any ideas?
