Default G2 in low light conditions. Can't see LCD..

Hi.. First time on this forum. I purchased the G2 and so far so good. Mostly outdoor type picutres. The first indoor pictures gave me some trouble. We were in a restaurant and the lighting was low. I could not make out the subject in the LCD. I saw the silowettes but not much else. The flash compensated for the low light and the pictures were fine. I check the options and I had the LCD set to the bright setting. Any idea? Is this normal for LCD type cameras or do I have a problem. Any help is appreciated. :?

Hi Steve,

I'm afraid that this is normal. In dark conditions, it IS just about impossible to see anything on the LCD. With my G2 (which I just traded for a G3) I often used the viewfinder, or just did the point-and-shoot trick, with maximum wide-angle and centering the light from the focus assist onto my subject. With a little bit of practice, it's possible to get great shots that way.

I hope I'm going to like my G3 as much as I liked my G2.

Hope this helps...
