Hello all, I hope this is a good forum
![]() For the topic.... The downside is having to buy a 512 Mstick Pro Duo for $200. Plus, I know the flash isn't that great (but is my S400 flash that much better?). I like my Canon, but the Sony is an even better size with the same zoom. Plus, VGA movies at 30 fps is way too tempting. Any opinions? (probably not the best time to ask since most people haven't seen many DSC-T1's yet...including me.) Thanks[/code] |

S500 will be noisy just like the G5. Much better off going for the s430.

Well, don't say people didn't warrrrrrrrrrrn you! The T-1 certainly looks like a neat gizmo, and it take "ok" photos from the samples I've seen. However, I'd probably consider it to be more of a "take it when I don't want to lug a real camera around" type of camera, as opposed to a serious imaging tool. Depends on your use. If you want a more serious camera that takes better images, I'd probably have opted for that S400. Atlantagreg |

Hi Guys,
To make it evn more difficult for you. The Ixus 500 seems to be even better that the S430, an other sensor. Compared to the T1 it is "only" the viseo 10fps instead of 30fps with the T1. I was surprissed that the pictures of the T1, even if it is Zeis linse, etc it is noise compared to my 400. The size and shape of the T1 is more beatiful compared to the 500 but.... Does anybody check out the picture quality of the 500?? I have tried to search for reviews, but it is too new yet. Artur |

Well, I got the T1 this weekend and was shocked from day 1 how bad the picture quality was compared to my S400. Noisy, noisy, noisy in light I wouldn't even consider low.
The flash is just horrible, that's really the whole problem IMO. The movie mode, size, etc. can't make up for the poor image quality. I've already got my RMA # from SonyStyle and will be sending it back this week. Quote:
