Got my Lensmate

I got my 52mm Lensmate today. I also bought a Hoya Polarizing filter. Is a polarizing filter one that can stay on the Lensmate at all times? I think I should have ordered a Skylight filter instead. What do you think?

Polarizing filter is usefull in some situations but costs some stops in light loss. So I would not leave it on the camera if it's effect is not wanted.

Using a 1a filter is and old argument :) and up to the individual user. Some say it protects the front element of the lense other say it just adds another air/glass surface to degrade the image.

Thanks PeterP. I certainly don't want to more F-stop-limited. I'll try the filter for a little while but I think I'll also pick up a UV filter for permanent Lensmate attachment. I appreciate your warning about it adding another layer in between what I'm shooting.
