I'm new to to the boards, and I'm currently looking to upgrade my current digicam, a Canon A60. The Canon S1 looks to be a nice upgrade for the price. I do have a question with the EVF:

How accurate is S1 EVF composition-wise? I never use the viewfinder on my A60, since what I saw through the viewfinder was not what the image ended up being when shot (if I remeber correctly, it was almost 20% off to the left or right). Is the EVF on the S1 a TTL type viewer, much like SLRs?

Thanks in advance!

An EVF is a digital version of a TTL. It's a miniLCD screen. As far as the accuracyof the S1 someone else will have to answer that.

Hi ,I belive view finder shows at least 99%.For all pratical purposes what you see is what you get.I think this mentioned on the S1 review on this site somewhere. Some have complained about minor differences between apparent exposure in display and actual exposure of photo but this ha snot been a problem for me.

Good luck with your search Brendon(mostly satisfied S1 owner)
