Hi to everyone from a new member.
I'm interested to buy an IXUS400 but I'd like to know if it can save raw images. I'm confused about this because I read it in the canon site in spain and in some other internet shops. Thank you very much, Claudio. |

The IXUS and S400 are the same camera, just with different names for the different global markets. Regardless of what you call it, the only supported file format is Exif 2.2 compliant JPEG.
If you are wanting the RAW format, you will need to step up to the S30 (3 MP), the S40/S45 (4 MP), or S50 (5 MP) for the Program AE shooting mode. As far a size goes, the S-series cameras are about an inch longer but not much taller or thicker than the IXUS/Digital Elph series. The S-series still offers the same point-n-shoot capabilities as the IXUS/ Digital Elph, but as you grow as a photographer, so does the S-series by allowing you to user far more advanced settings that are not available on the IXUs/Digital Elph. |
