I need help from you...i own my new S1. Before my camera was A60. Now i see that i do not know how to take picture indoors in low light. With A60 it was siple. But With S1 i have noisy pictures :( ...maybe you can say setings for dark room, flash power and etc. to make pictures better and not so noisy

Manually set the ISO speed to 50, use "P" mode instead of Auto. If shooting people pictures then be sure that the Red-eye flash option is enabled.
|
You may also have to use Manual focus.

can be that ultra zoom cammera have more noisy pictures in low light?

Hi Casper,
If you decide you need to use ISO 400 there are a number of noise reduction programs you can down load that are very simple to use.The one I am using is downloaded from imagenomic.com .As this one was free I have not tried any others yet but have heard good things about noise ninja which has profiles available for download for the S1(I think S1 users made them up and posted them for others to use.) I am not sure that an ultra zoom camera should be any more noisey as I think the S1 has the same imaging chip in it as the other canon 3.2mp cameras released about the same time. I use ISO 50 and p mode almost exclusively and go to ISO 400 as last resort. Brendon |

yea, anything above 200 (including 200) is too noisy. In low light, try this: Switch to Av mode, aperture priority. Set it as wide as you can, then start increasing/decreasing shutter speed, while still making sure its not too blurry due to hand shake. Basically start at 2.8 and work upwards on shutter speeds until its too blurry but not so fast that you can't see anything. You should be able to nail good photos, w/o flash, at low ISO. Check this one:
