Does anyone know if shooting in IS mode affects the performance of the S1 IS in any way?
Does it slow AF? Does it give me a lesser quality of shots when I'm *not* shooting in the telescopic range? Just curious... :?: |

I'm not sure but I would GUESS that the camera would be slower with IS turned on... after all, it uses up CPU power... not really sure how much of an effect this is though (is it 1% more processor power or 25%?? don't know)...

Hi the only effects of a negative nature from IS on a S1 I have heard of is if you dont turn it off when using a tripod there is a slight loss (have not seen it myself) in quality as IS trys to correct for non existant camera shake(just remember to turn IS off). You could also argue for shorter battery life but I dont find the battery life to be a problem using NiMh batteries anyway.I would expect in most situations IS is a big plus.
