I am considering getting a Powershot A610 because it seems to fit my needs quite well. Went to download the sample video file and it was 19 MB for a 10-second clip. I often take videos lasting 2 to 4 minutes that I share with another person through broadband connections using MSN Messenger or ICQ. The videos from my old camera were small and a 4-minute video could be around 50 MB in size, something which took some time to transfer but was manageable. At the same rate as the sample video, a 4 minute 640x480 video from the A610 would be around 450 MB in size.:shock::shock: Is there a slower frame rate setting at this size? How about the file size of 320x240 videos?

This is a major drawback. Canon should use better compression for the videos.
