Hi,
I just ordered an A70. Can I record continious movies with a larger cf card. Or is it limited to 30 seconds even if you have a 512 MB card. |

Although the website does say 3 minutes, the camera only records approx. 30 sec at the highest resolution(640X480). At the lower 2 settings it should record 3 minutes of video.

I think the Web site quotes the most favourable time. I have an A70 with a 512MB card. In 640x480 (VGA) movie resolution, it records exactly 30 seconds and never a bit more. Lower resolutions are 3 minutes. All as specified. I'm pretty certain that the size and speed of the CF card matters not a bit, except that it be large enough to hold the full file. I think this is a restriction based on the internal buffer size and firmware.
ir P.S.: Say what you like about movies on digicams, but they are fun to have available without lugging a movie cam along as well. The stills are the most important, but if they can cram in a VGA movie mode, that's great. |

Shooting on 320, for a full 3 mins my camera is ready to take the next 3 mins in a second. As close to continious as u can get with it. On the 640 for 30 seconds, it does chug for a bit more.
