Maybe I'm nitpicking here.... but I wonder why Canon doesn't include a lens adapter and hood- given what they'd cost- and the cost of the Camera..!

$800 for a P&S. What is Canon thinking?? A P&S IMHO should never cost as much or more than a DSLR. No matter how good it is.

Now that I've had a chance to use the camera for a week I think this is one camera that can't be compared to previous G cameras although it feels similarly dated.
It is closer to the fixed lens large sensor cameras like the Fuji X100 and Sigma DP2. IQ and sensor are really good. I can forget about close ups ( the Canon adapter and close up lens seem very poor ) and let this cracking lens/sensor combo work to its strengths. I think we'll hear more about the lens in days to come. |
