does the s30 take NiMH batteries? or just the lithium ion batteries it comes with? is the s30 compatible with NiMH batteries and if so whats the best NiMH battery brand? how much better are NiMH than the kit included Lithium Ion batteries?
how long does a Lithium Ion battery last if taking TIFF pictures? with the s30 kit all you need is whats included - you dont have to buy any other battery related item or anything? someone told me the s30 doesnt take NiMH batteires... thanks if you can answer a easy question |

I have an S30. It doesn't take NiMH battery as far as I know. The kit I have contains everything. But I did run out of battery several time when I was out. The problem is that it doesn't have an indicator telling you how much power you still have, like those Sony cameras.

The user guide says that you could take 160 images with LCD turned on. That is done with these conditions: alternating wide angle and maximum telephoto at 20 second intervals, flash fired once every four shots, power turned off and on every eight shots.
In reality, I ran out of battery with much less photos. I guess turning power on and off uses a lot of power. In their conditions, they only turn it on and off 20 times for 160 shots. The highest ISO setting is 800 but the noise level is just too high at that ISO setting, unless you choose the lowest resolution. |
