I recently got a Canon power shot s2 is with 1 GB Lexor card. It is easily transferring movies for 2 to 3 minutes duration from camera to my computer. I shot a movie of 5.30 minutes duration ( size 633 MB) and my camera is not transferring it to computer thouth the entire movie is showing up on LCD. I have formatted the card and tried several movies but the problem is still persisting. Manual and other reviews say that moviee can be shot till memory card is full. In India very few canon service centres are available and it will take for about a month to get back the camera. Some one please please and please help me, I am really desperate.

Do you see the entire file when looking at the camera in My Computer? If so why not try dragging and dropping? Alternatively if you have a card reader, try accessing it from there.

I have a Powershot A610 and the Software Starter Guide says in page 52 that if there are more thanabout 1000 images in the camera (this is a 5 MP camera) you may not be able to download all of them and to use a memory card reader in that case.

It looks like there is some kind of limitation in the amount of memory space Windows can access in the camera. That is probably your problem. Try using a card reader as already suggested.

Hi!

I had a similar problem, I could not download 1Gb movies using the camera utility. But it was OK if the files were copied and pasted through win explorer.

Thanks ron & all bros. for responding to my problem. I willtry a card reader as suggested.

My canon nimh rechargeable batteries have just died down and will take about 5 hoursto recharge andI will be able to try other suggested optionsonly after that. However, I have window xp service pack 2. Whenever I tried to download large movie files through scanner and camera wizard, everytime it is downloading upto 98% or 99% but not the 100%. Why? I have even edited the size of the videw butto no avail.

Use the same approach as in Chris's post, via Windows Explorer.

Thankx ron

But I could not even access the moviefrom window explorer as suggested or by any drag and drop method. After repeated attempts my xp help menu flashed a message that my virtually memory is slow. I, then, right clicked 'My computer - Advanced -performance-settings. There I found that the value for virtual memory was set to 362 and that is why I was not able download a file > 362 MB. It can be changed according to requirement and this is the permanent solution for any such problem. And now my problem is sorted out. However, if camera is directly accessed from quicktime player File menu, it can be copied from there and pasted at desired place.
