Default Question for S230 owners or know-hows

I am trying to decide between the S45 and S230. Very small size is very important to me but I will be frequently using the camera to shoot off of computer monitors. Does tweaking the exposure compensation of the the S230 let me go down to slower shutter speeds to eliminate monitor flicker? Something in the order of 1/10.

Thank a lot in advance.

You cannot directly control the shutter speed with the S230. As far as I have been able to tell, you cannot even tell what the shutter or aperture settings are while shooting. I suppose you could set the ISO to 50 and turn the flash off and the if the screen image that you were shooting wasn't too bright, you may end up with a slow enough shutter speed. If the ability to shoot in shutter priority is important, the S230 might not be a good choice.
