Rayovac’s 15-Minute Rechargeables
Does anyone know if these can be used in the A-70 ?

They can be used in any camera that use AA type batteries.

I have been using these batteries for six months or so, and they're working out great. I have only used them so far in peripherals, like wireless mouse, labelmakers, adding machine, etc. But I just ordered another eight pack for use in other equipment. They really do charge in 15 minutes. It seems a good solid charge, I checked them with a battery checker before and after. Seems to hold a charge for months on slow drain equipment, like mouse. The recharger has a fan to enable cooling while charging, to prevent undo stress on the battery and prevent overheating. A bit noisy, but effective. I understand the batteries have some firmware inside to enable the fast charge. So I don't imagine you can use other brand or alternate rechargeable batteries in the charger. I haven't tried them in a camera, because my Canon and Nikons don't take this type of battery. But I imagine they'd be useful for those that do. Gotta be careful taking this travelling to other countries with different current ratings. Check with manufacturer before travelling in case you need a special adapter, and not the generic type. We burned a charger unit for a Motorola walkie talkie by using it with a current adapter for Germany/Denmark. The devices held up, but not the charger! Beware
