Hi wf, yes I am indeed. I just wish the S2 hadthree things and it would be the absolute, perfect, #1 12X zoomcamera out there: 1) live histogram in REC mode (I became a big fan of this feature from the H1); 2)2.5" LCD (with the amount of information displayed on the LCD, a 1.8" LCD is pretty much unusable); and3)2 AA instead of 4.

Thanks, Sunalei. It is a very nice area, no doubt about it. The good thing is, it's minutes from my work so I don't waste much time getting there and back.

Tullio - I have an S2 as welland have found that in order to reduce a washed out look and overexposure, the camera needs to be at -1/3rd EV and low contrast in the "custom effect setting". Auto mode is just about useless on the S2.

Hi montana500, I really miss not having live histogram in REC modeon the S2. It would help eliminate exposure issues before taking the picture rather than after the fact. I too prefer the image tobe more on the under exposed sidebut I don't thing it works all the time. If you are in the woods with no bright subject (i.e. waterfalls) that could potentially offset the exposure, then 0 EV is fine. As for the effect setting, I found ether VIVID or CUSTOM with increased sharpness to be the best (to my taste, of course).

Tullio- I can tell you from alot of experience that even in the woods, the S2 at the default EV and medium-high contrast setting will overexpose and wash out many of your images .... even at optimal lighting conditions (sunset, sunrise times). It's simply not a point and shoot camera, and the small sensor size requires some tweaking to get it to perform at it's best.

I'll take your word for it. Next time, I'll experiment with the exposure set to -1/3 EV.

By the way I thought the road and moss tree pics were excellent. Was your sharpening set to max in custom mode?
