I'm considering the S30 for a take anywhere camera but am somewhat concerned about the visibility of the LCD in bright outdoor conditions, particularly considering the lack of an LED indicator for settings such as apertures and shutter speeds when using A and S modes. I'd appreciate feedback on whether any forum participants have used a Hoodman LCD shade and, if so, which model.
Alternately, have you found the LCD visibility good enough that you consider such a shade unnecessary? |

I have a S30 and in bright light it is useless. Not only can you not see the display, but the images do not line up in the optical viewfinder, do youself a favor and buy the G2.

I'll go one step further! Don't buy ANY camera where you have to depend on the LCD for pictures in bright sun. I have at least one of all the hoods and viewers and all have there problems. My Nikon 995 presently has a rubberband attached 2x viewer. Looks like crap.
