How can I force a faster shutter speed on my S400, without making the image look under/overexposed?
Without the flash, I think the fastest I have gotten in my basement (with lights on) was 1/10 sec... with flash I believe the min is 1/60 sec. However, I can't use the flash all the time... but surely there is a way to make it take faster shutter speeds! It goes up to 1/2000 sec.. yet I do not think I have ever gotten above 1/60 sec.. My pictures come out blurred because of my shaky hands I guess... help! |

I believe, the only way is to put more light in your basement. There is no other way to take a pic in dim light without flash that wouldn't look underexposed. The other solution is use of a tripod.

Oh, yeah, and try higher ISO speed and minimal apperture, but this probably won't get you beyond 1/100 shutter speed anyways. You'll have more noise to the images, but at least you'll be able to take pictures without flash and tripod.
