Hi there all. Frequent forum stalker, first time poster. So, I'm thinking about trading up to an S2 or S3, but have a question. I've caught the IR bug, and really want to try having some fun with IR filters and the like. Now I've read that some cameras are more IR sensitive than others, and I was just wanting to see if anyone here has shot IR with their S2 or S3 (if it's available yet). Thanks!

[align=left]Hello bikeribis
I have limited experience with IR on the Canon S2 IS, but to answer your question, the results are quite good. At least I am happy with it.

The attached picture was taken with the S2 using a Hoya R72 IR filter.
I removed the visible red color with Photoshop Elements 4.

Needless to say longer exposures are needed, so count on using a tripod.
A lot of my experimenting has been in full manual mode (M), but I still get the best reults in program mode (P)

I don't know anything about the S3

Your picture looks great! Thanks for sharing. Which accessory adapter piece did you use? Is it Canon's or someone else's? Thanks again.

It is Canon's and I don't like it. Being plastic it flexes which makes it hard to disassemble
from the filters and the lens shade. Get a metal one if you can. I use 58mm filters.
