Does anyone know if there is a noticable difference between the two, is it worth the extra photo space going to Fine over superfine?

Thanks for any insight.

I have the S3 IS (not the A610). However, I think the commetns should apply just as well. Unless you're making large prints (larger than 8x10) you would be hard pressed to see any differences between Fine and Superfine. Try taking pictures in Fine and Superfine and make 8x10 prints and compare them. I'm verypleased with the quality of 8x10 prints using Fine on my S3.

As far as this camera goes, 8x10 is as large as I'd print.

So it looks like fine should be a good setting. since I'm sure all it does is jpeg compress it a tad, since a superfine pic was about 1.8 megs and a fine was 1.3, doesn't look like it's that much.

I do like the picture jump though going to fine, im using a sandisk ultra II 512 card and get 195 shots in superfine, fine jumps to 350.

If you plan to do any sort of post processing then use the lowest compression setting. (Superfine)
