Wait for the Pro1 or buy a G5
Well, the Pro1 uses the same highly packed CCD that the Sony 828 did. Same noise problems and same CA problems. Why oh why didn't Canon use their excellent CMOS sensor that is in the Drebel? The price on the Sony has dropped fast as folks looking for next generation digital cameras are passing up on CCD noise and CA. Canon has a real winner with it CMOS sensor compared to CCDs, but they chose the CCD from Sony. Go figure. I was waiting for the pro1, but now see the G5 at below $500 a superior buy. It could be a stop gap above my G1 until Canon, and the rest of the manufacturers figuer out that it's all about the image, not MP. My G1 was fantastic for it's time...but it was only fantastic at ISO 50. Looks like it is the same for this camera. I don't want to shoot at ISO 50 anymore. DCresourse has a full review. Looks like a G5 for me for now.
