Whenever I make a video clip with Powershot A75 the Camera's Flash Card contains two files.
one with .avi extention and second with .thm extension. What is this .THM for ? When I copy from CF card to my PC what purpose this .THM serves ? Can I simply ignore these .thm files. What are they basically meant for ? Any information on this will be highly appreciated. |

I believe the .TMH file is a small thumbnail image that the camera uses so it candisplay an image representation of the larger .AVI file when the camera is in review mode - rather than loading the huge file into memory. I think the camera also uses a .THM file to display a thumbnail of a RAW file also.

Thanks for the reply, JPMCCORMAC. I think your answer makes sense. It may be the reason for .THM files.
If anyone knows for sure what .THM file does, please post your reply. Can I delete/ignore these files from my PC? Hari |
