Default Zoombrowser 4.o and its peculiarities.

Hi yah all,

Just got meself a IXUS v3. Just love the camera. Great pictures, small, nice design and improved user interface over the past IXUS cameras. Last was the only thing I disliked about the earlier models.

I have some issues though with that bloody horrible new Zoombrowser. I never liked the program but at least it was possible to make a database of my images and store them. The new version though is even worse. It's interface is XP like. How distastefull can you get? Anyway thats offcourse personal opinion so I won't bother you with that.

My questions though is. Has anyone noticed that Zoombrowser 4 is not displaying network drives anymore? The weirdest thing though is that when you save images from the camera you all of a sudden are able to select network drives. Additionally they have removed the TWAIN interface from it as well! This basically makes the program useless as a database for your images.

I tried to go back to me old Zoombrowser 3.4, but lo and behold. It is not compatible with the new TWAIN driver from the v3.

I've always been a fan of Canon cameras, even though they sometimes have some strange ways of doing things. The above though to me is extremely disappointing.

Regards ....

I am also very dissappointed with ZoomBrowser 4.0's inability to access network drives. All my digital images are on a SnapServer network disc which is mapped to a drive letter on my computer. Even this drive letter doesn't show up! I called Canon Support and they verified the issue, but said that it was "by design", meaning a fix is not likely. I asked where I could file a complaint and was told there is no way to file a complaint that would reach the ZoomBrowser developers. So.... I will not be using ZB in the future!
