250mm+ Telephoto Lens for Canon Rebel T6

My current telephoto lens is a Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS STM. I'd like to get something with a longer focal length and don't want to spend more than $1500. I was doing some reading and looking at the Tamron 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 Lens. Do you have any recommendations for me?

G'day Linda

Although I don't use many SLRs these days, from my personal experience with Tamron lenses they are excellent lenses. There are others here who do use this lens - their comments will no doubt filter in over the next couple of days - but I'm sure they will all agree with your choice

ps- pop over to the Wildlife forum and chase up Squirl033 / Rocky's images ... I believe he uses this lens

Hope this helps
Phil

Thank you Phil, I'll do that!

I have been using the Tamron 150-600 for a couple of years now, and love it. It does take some getting used to. But for the money you can't beat it.
