I was going to get a canon 20d. I now see that there is a 20D and a 20D EOS. Is there much of a difference to matter to a newbe? Thanks

The EOS 20D is the same thing I believe. There is a 20D, a 20D-A and a newly announced 30D. you can check a number of threads for the diff between the 20d and new 30d. I can't recall what the 20d-a has - i know it's a very niche market camera - maybe for astro-photography?

What gives is a great deal. If you desire to buy the body only, I can and will highly recommend B and H Photo or buydig.com .

The kit lens is not great, but when "stopped down" it is sharp enough for good outdoor use. It'll never win many awards though for accuracy, or speed.

If you are wondering why it's such a good deal, it's probably because of the new version just announced and they are wanting to get rid of older stock so they can offer the new 30D for a decent price. Newegg.com is a highly reputable online dealer as well.

They are both canon eos 20D you can see it in the pictures, it just seems they have neglected to write it in the description of one of the cameras. There is a 20Da for astrophotography but that is quite a bit more expensive. Seems strange to sell a camera body with lens cheaper than the body but if you compare it to B&H, its about 40 dollars more to buy it with the lens at egg than it is to buy the body alone at egg. I think once the 30d is on its way we will see a lot more of this.
