Hi guys,I have been using my D Rebel XT for about 3 months... absolutely happy with it... but recently I noticed some noise on all my pictures taken at ISO 200. I didn't expect to see almost any noise - see the window and the roof flashings ...as the picture was taken on a sunny day and exposure was almost right (lightened the picture up a bit though). It is a 100% crop. Am I too picky? Or could sensor swabbing cause increase in noise? (don't seeany reason why it should but...) Thanks for your comments

quit pixel peeping and enjoy photography!!!
hehe.. you will find some noise in the shadows with any digital camera.. |
Odd type of noise. I doubt it's the camera. If it were CMOS sensor noise, it would be more obvious in the darker tones rather than mid-tones. And I don't see that level of noise in the plant leaves.
Any chance that window is tempered glass? And swabbing with a liquid cleaner will cause this type of noise due to the microscopic evaporates left behind act as tiny lenses and diffract light hitting the sensor. |
