As I suggested in my reply to another of your questions try and have a good read of basic camera techniques to understand these things.
The 350D has both fully manual and fully automatic settings. For fully automatic (let the camera do all the work) shoot everything in the green rectangle mode. This will give fairly decent results for most situations. The landscape, portrait, sports etc settings just set up the camera in a different way in terms of single or continuous focussing, maximising depth of field, shutter speed etc. Best thing is to experiment with differnet settings on the same subject and see what the outcome is. Great way to learn the differences. |

Also, as suggested, when you get a chance it would be good to read a book or some websites on basic photography. Once you have a better understanding of how a camera works you will likely never use any of theBasic Zone Modes again. |
