Default Order of purchases

Okay, there's guy who's got more money than sense.

He bought a good Canon dslr and is ready to buy lenses. He doesn't have a specific subject in mind of the type of photography he wants to do. So let's just stay he's a generic shooter.

List for me, in order, ten lenses this guy should buy.

For example, I'd first recommend the lens that is on my camera the most. So my #1 lens I recommend is a 70-200 2.8 with Image Stabilization.

Now I need to list 2 thru 10.

I'll post the rest of my list later.
But let's confine this list to lenses, (No flashes, nor accessories, let's just stick to lenses)

APS-C or 'Full Frame' body?

I'd recommend the EF-S 17-55/2.8 IS USM. It outperforms the 24-70 on a 'Full Frame' body, and it's stabilized. But on a 'Full Frame' body, it's a waste.
  • The lens is the thing.
  • 'Full Frame' is the new 'Medium Format'.
