Hello all.

I recently got the 350d Ibelieve... Digital Rebel EOS XT?

Anyways, I just started playing around with it some more.

I was shooting indoors, fairly low light... so at first I was using a flash. That was a mistake. Everything was pitch black and I could not make anything out. So I just tookout the tripod, turned the flash off, and everything was fine.

Did everything turn out black because the stock flash is pretty shotty? I eventually am planning on getting the Sigma Flash, 500. Will that still do the same thing?

More details...what mode were you shooting in, manual, AV, TV or one of the dummy modes? Had you gone into the menus and set and flash exposure compensation? If you can figure out how to post the exif data the answer would be easy.

Sounds maybe like your exposure settings were not enough to record an image, making me think maybe manual mode, with a small aperture and short shutter speed. The dummy modes would have automatically compensated for anything & should have produced a decent shot.

The built-in flash should work fine for anything within a number of feet.
