I just posted two macro images of a tiny green spider. He was
spinning in the breeze, so I used full flash illumination from a
pair of Canon 550EX flashes (one on the left arm of the Kirk Macro
Dual Flash Bracket as a slave and the other on the 20D as the
The first shot is a 25% crop of original image. 2:3 aspect ratio.
Even with the Canon 180mm "L" macro lens, there was a lot of
distracting background. The spider was very, very tiny. He was
hanging from the edge of our outdoor trash recepticle.
After cropping, I applied some sharpening. 10 pixel Highpass
sharpening. I also applied Neat Image Pro+ to reduce noise. Bicubic
Sharper was used to resize the image to 1000 pixels wide.
