I noticed that when I used a CF reader on my computer I have two files. A raw file and a .jpg file. Now, off the bat my photoshop wont read the raw. Understandable.

I installed the cds that came with the canon. And I plugged the canon to my computer. Now when the folder opens, I have TWO .jpg of the same file. What happened to the raw? And is there a way to get the raw to open in Photoshop?

For now you'll have to make do with the DPP software that comes Canoncameras to process any RAW files. Soon, Adobe willlikely provide an update to the camera raw plug-inthat will work withRAW files for mostof thethenew models that have been recently introduced. Until then, I'm afraid you'll have to use the Canon software.

Ah ok. It just threw me off that everything was .jpg both raw and the .jpg file. Only if I move the CF card do I see that the raw files arent .jpg. Weird

I checked the site and the latest update I saw for canon was for the 30D. I didn't see the xti, pentax, or the new nikon.

Note: Adobe Camera Raw 3.6 development has been accelerated to accommodate recently announced cameras such as the Nikon D80 and the Canon EOS 400D / Digital Rebel Xti. The update will be provided this fall.
