Has anyone used any of the batteries sold on ebay or should I only buy genuine Canon BP-511?

Thanks!

I even bought no name NP-E3's for the 1D which have 30% more capacity than the Canon's @ 1/5 the price
-> Like the other poster they keep on going... and going... I actually filled several 2G flash cards and the indicator still show the battery is full!

I've bought a few batts from ebay...for my old Canon S230, and now 30D...and my brother-in-law's Rebel XT...all worked fine. My last purchase was for the 30D...got 4 1600mAh batts for about $25 shipped...I believe that seller is now selling 1800mAh batts for the same price.

FYI - Just make sure one of those "clone" batteries isn't in the camera if you send it in for warranty service -- unless you like getting billed for it
