I know a couple of people who left CF cards in their pocket and they went through the wash. Cards dried and seem to have kept on working, though I'm not sure I would ever trust a card that went through that again :G

Lol, I guess it would be a last resort, at least to recover images if possible and I doubt I would rely on the card either !

Btw, I didn't know the cards write in the way you mentioned...makes sense, but didn't know...thanks for that :-)

Modern electronics must be a lot tougher that you expect.
One of my buddies just had their cell phone go through the wash.

He let it dry and a day later it seems to be working normally.
Not the best way to clean your cell screen and keypad :G

I doubt very much if your camera would be ok after washing it...Mind you the sensor would be mighty clean.......
