the only issue with snow u will face is the WHite Balance. Take few sample shots and fix the white balance. Also push the exposure compensation by +1 or +1.5.

Generally this should help. But as i said take few sample shots and get the White Balance right. Thats what i do when i want the snow pictures.

Not sure if this appears white enuff for snow..but a sample shot. Back side of my apartment

as mentioned by nymphetamine - the exposure compensation of +1 or even +1.5 will make sure your snow is white , not gray

Do you use snow to adjust the white balance or just trial and dial in the temperature by looking at LCD? I don't have color histograms in 30D...

the 30D does have color histogram. In the menu u can swap between RGB and Brightness.

http://www.steves-digicams.com/2006_...s/30D_pg5.htmlcheck the RGB histogram here.

I mostly use K white balance and adjust the temperature until i feel its fine. And even if it has a slight tint of say red or green, this tint can be adjusted in PS.
