I am going to a very nice resturant for mothers with lots of people. I never took photos in a resturant. Can someone give some tips how to shoot in a resturant. What should be focus point set on as well...

Off the top of my head...
- The face is the most important thing. You want to see people having fun.
- Get both group shots and closeups.
- Take several shots of something that is good. You never know when something might happen (like someone blinking) to mess up the shot.
- Bring extra batteries if you can. You'll probably want ot use a flash a lot, and that will suck the batteries dry.
- I would use the center point focus. If you let the camera pick the focus point, it might pick the wrong one... it picks the one which as the closes thing to you under it. Which might be the person's sholder and not their face.

Hope that helps.

and dont be afraid to bump the ISO. With XRI iso 800 is very clean. So dont be afraid about noise at iso800.

make as many candid shots as possible. The expressionsa are really natural and funny too.
